Home is not just a pile of stone and wood heaped on one on another to create a space to live in. It, in fact, is an extension of the personality of the person who created it. A well placed and a well-built house speaks volumes about the personality of the owner and his tastes and aesthetics.
Many of the most well built houses in the world are an extravaganza, a tribute to wealth and power of the owners but all the amazing houses need not always be an expensive affair. Below, Meredith roofing and I invite you to have a look at some of the most amazing houses that were built not merely to carve out a living space but to give expression to an idea, an ideology and artistic fancies of the individual who got them built.
Waterfall home, USA

Some of us go miles to create a waterfall like ambience near our houses. However, Waterfall Home located at Bear Run in Pennsylvania, is built right into a waterfall. This is an amazing building as though it encroaches on the waterfall space, but it does not stop or divert the course of the water from its channel down the hill.
The narrowest house, Poland
The Keret House in Warsaw in Poland is unique in the sense that it is the narrowest house in the world. Completed in 2012, the house sits betwixt two larger buildings. At its widest point, the house measures only 122 centimeters. The house is more of a piece of art than a house that attempts to symbolize the (dis)connection between the torn past and the building future of Poland. But this image does not rob the house of its livability and livable space that though less in every sense is not claustrophobic at all.

If you think the Hobbit tales are a fantasy, true to only the motion pictures like ‘The Lord of the Rings’, you may actually be wrong. The house built along a hillside in Whales by the owner using only natural material is a wonder to the eyes. Simon Dale, a freelance photographer spent not more than 3000 pounds in building the house and it took less than four months for him to complete it. The house is an excellent example of ecological sustainability and environmental conservation.

Here is another pick from the fantasyland. An individual, late Dick Clark for his wife built this amazing house as a mountainside abode in California. Built on Malibu Hills, the house has some of the most breathtaking vistas of the valley around. The house is now up in market on a rental fees charged for anyone who wants to stay in it.
Home on a rock, Serbia

This peculiar house is built on a rock in mid of the river Drina River in the Balkans. The house came up in amazing way. As reported, it was back in 1969 a group of boys got onto this rock to sunbath after a dip in the river. They then came up with the idea of building a shelter here. A couple of stories have been added to the house since and amazingly even in its furtive location, it has caught the attention of international tourism.

Polish businessperson Daniel Czapiewski built the house in the Polish village of Szymbark. This unusual house was got built upside down by him. Entry is through a roof window and the visitors walk around on the ceiling, which acts as the floor of the house. The house is styled in the socialist architecture prevailing in the 70s. The house was to be a living symbol of the lives of the people that were upset and turned upside down following the Soviet led Warsaw pact.
These are some of the most amusing residences ever built by man. The building of these quaint houses has combined in it imagination, innovation and lots of mental perspiration of the builders whose seemingly eccentric vision has given to the world some of the most amazing pieces of architecture.
