Toshiba intros 13MP camera sensor to capture quality images in the dark

Taking the image quality of your Smartphone and other mobile devices to the next level, Toshiba has announced 13 megapixels, CMOS-based sensor called the “TK437” that comes with on-circuit color noise reduction to lower pixel noise, while improving the quality of images. Featuring a dense, sensitive design, the new phone camera sensor touts backside illumination technology to perform efficiently even in low-light conditions.

Measuring 0.33 square inches in dimensions to fit into an 8.5 x 8.5mm size camera module with ease, the 1.12 micrometer CMOS image sensor will be available for $20 in December 2012.
